"International Symposium on Single Crystal Diamond and Its Electronic Devices" was held in Nanyang Hotel, Xi'an Jiaotong University
June 12-17,2015,Xi'an Jiaotong University,Shaanxi Science and Technology Association,Pan Pacific R&D and Industry Alliance of Single Crystal Diamond and Electronic Devices,China Vacuum Society and Shaanxi Vacuum Society,China Electronics Society,Electrophysical and The"International Symposium on Single Crystal Diamond and Its Electronic Devices"jointly organized by the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education and the Shaanxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Information Photonics Technology was held in Nanyang Hotel,Xi'an Jiaotong University,with more than 100 people from different countries and regions.Experts and scholars participated in the international seminar.Academician Hou Wei of the School of Telecommunications of the University served as the chairman of the conference.Professor Wang Hongxing,the special expert of the National Thousand Talents Program,Chairman of the Japan Diamond Association,Professor Kawahara Kawahara of Waseda University,and Professor Nippon Kawasaki of the Japanese Institute of Materials Research(NIMS)Executive Chairman of the Conference.The conference aims to provide academic exchange platforms for experts,scholars,technicians and entrepreneurs in the fields of single crystal diamond materials,electronic devices,diamond single crystal growth equipment,etc.,and strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation between the same industry at home and abroad.To jointly promote the vigorous development of international single crystal diamond materials and their electronic device industry and related industries.Through exchanges with experts and scholars in related fields at home and abroad,we will learn about the latest developments in the research field of new ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors,single crystal diamonds and their electronic devices,in order to develop new experimental methods,theory and condense key scientific issues.Provide a basis for comprehensively promoting interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary and substantive cooperation based on advanced carbon materials,promoting the construction of China's single crystal diamond semiconductor materials and electronic device research platforms,and working together to promote international single crystal diamonds And the advancement and development of its electronic device research,expanding the application and transformation of the advanced electronic materials and devices.
Ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors–monolithic diamonds in electrical,optical,mechanical,acoustic and thermal properties,in high-temperature,high-efficiency,ultra-high-power millimeter-wave electronics,power electronics,biosensors,photodetection and imaging,Particle detection and imaging,aerospace and other systems have extremely important application prospects,and are regarded as"the ultimate semiconductor"by the industry.Diamond electronic devices have the advantages of small size,high integration,and no need for refrigeration compared to other semiconductor devices.It will play its unique advantages in energy saving and emission reduction and building a green earth,which will lead to a revolution in the new generation of semiconductor technology.
The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Professor Wang Hongxing.Academician Hou Xi of Xi'an Jiaotong University and Prof.Kawahara Kawahara of Waseda University delivered speeches respectively.They hoped that the conference would be successfully held and promote the cooperation and exchange of industry,academia and research in the field of monocrystalline diamond and its electronic devices.The development of related industries in China provides a good opportunity.The internationally renowned expert in single crystal diamond and its electronic devices,and the Japanese Institute of Materials Research(NIMS),Prof.Xiaofu,spoke on behalf of the guests,focusing on the development history and important milestones of single crystal diamond and its electronic devices,and pointed out that diamonds and Its electronic devices are widely used in power semiconductor devices,semiconductor integration,micro-mechanics,photodetection imaging,particle detection imaging and biosensing.
The conference was attended by 23 experts from the diamond and vacuum fields at home and abroad.The delegates had a heated discussion.Prof.Kawahara Kawahara of Waseda University,Professor Nenko Xiaokun from Japan,and Professor Zhang Wenjun from the City University of Hong Kong respectively reported the latest research progress of their respective teams;Professor Jin Jinping from Tokushima University,Professor Li Chengming from Beijing University of Science and Technology,Professor Zhang Jincheng from Xidian University,Zhejiang Industry Professor Hu Xiaojun from the University and Professor Zhu Jiaqi from Harbin Institute of Technology reported the latest research progress of domestic single crystal diamond research.Dr.Bernold Richerzhagen from Synova,Switzerland,gave a report on the application of wet laser processing technology in the preparation of diamonds and their electronic devices.Professor Wang Hongxing,Director of the Center for Wide Band Gap Semiconductor Materials and Devices,introduced the latest research progress in the rapid growth of single crystal diamond,epitaxial growth of electronic device-level single crystal diamond,diamond-based solar blind UV detection and diamond-based power electronic devices.,received high praise from the participants.
